Can you tell me a bit about your background and what you were doing before starting work with weeve?

I have over 4 years experience in my field of work. Before moving to Berlin I was living in Dusseldorf, working at Trivago also as a backend software developer. It was my passion for IoT and tech that really led me here.

Can you tell me a little bit about your role and a project you are working on?

At weeve I am a full stack developer/architect. This means I am involved with creating our IoT data architecture, developing the UI and backend as well as hardware programming. I have even taken part in some customer calls! I am working on many different projects, but one of the largest projects right now is developing our IoT architecture and also creating modules (parsers, aggregators) to be used in creating data pipelines.

What skills do you have to use the most at work?

A big thing is being a “polyglot developer” - this means working with multiple different languages, such as NodeJS, Python, Go, Angular/ReactJS. I also have to use hardware programming skills (Embedded C, C++) in order to test out how different sensors would interact with our solution.

What’s the most exciting thing about working in this space?

The space we are working in has the potential to solve a lot of problems, many have yet to be discovered!

For me, it also means I get to combine many of my different skills and passions such as both my electronics and software skills.

I'm not just a Technophile, I have a secret talent for beatboxing! I'm also pretty good at cooking...
